#LiftingOurVoices4GiftofLife to Reach More African Americans with a timely call to action,

Social Media Campaign aims to galvanize increased registration among African Americans by showcasing unsung champions for organ and tissue donation

Black History Month is Feb 1 – 28, 2017

In homage to the Black American national anthem, “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” penned in 1900 by James Weldon Johnson, the hashtag #LiftingOurVoices4GiftofLife references the ever-relevant opportunity to give voice to African Americans #DonateLife champions, whose lives have been transformed by organ and tissue donation. In addition to showcasing inspirational stories about organ and tissue recipients, this social media campaign creates a much-needed platform for showcasing African Americans who have devoted their professional lives to the field of donation and transplantation. Similarly, #Donate Life organizations have a unique opportunity to recognize the stellar and steadfast community of industry partners, influencers, and supporters who are advancing the collective effort to increase the number of registered African American organ and tissue donors.
